Finding good, true friends in the music scene isn't always easy, especially in the hurly-burly online world we live in. So finding someone who shares your creative vision and passions is rare and rather special. Its a bonus when you can actively support each other in said passions, as well as being your absolute weirdo selves around each other!
Myself and Charlie (aka GlamRat) met in Ibiza at a music festival back in 2022 through mutual muso friends, and soon started to collaborate on various projects including podcasts, social media and presenting work with Upstaged Limited. This year we've made a conscious effort to work together more on our own projects, with us both due to be attending the same university in September (Waterbear, College of Music), in an effort to build our own portfolios and also because we just have the best laugh together and can chat until the cows come home... particularly about the rock music scene. Its so nice, to be around like-minded people that only want the best for each other, so why not turn our passions in music into something we can turn into a career!
This weekend at Sabo HQ we worked on some new content for the Upstaged Youtube Channel as well as the Sabo Music Media Channel, due to be published very very soon, so keep your eyes and ears peeled on this page for that! We of course made many more future plans for our music world domination!
We're very happy to have been asked to cover press at Hella Rock Festival at the end of August in Coventry, with some of our favourties on the bill including A'priori, The Outlaw Orchestra and The Virginmarys to name a few. A new festival for the both of us, and a great way to end the summer festival season with a bang! Again, keep an eye on our socials and this page for more content on that.
After a long festival season that started back in mid-May with Slam Dunk, Call of The Wild, Download, Barnsley Live and Rivendell amongst many others, it was great to have a catchup, pool our resources, and bounce ideas around for some exciting new content. The weekend came to a close with a greasy pizza, cheap corner shop wine, pink donuts and a TV marathon of old Alan Carr and Lily Savage shows... as it should!
Sabo & GlamRat content coming out very soon, so watch this space and until then... Keep it Sabo!
